Who we are

Maltafit (maltafit.com) is run by Maltafit, The Strand, MT. Contact: hello@maltafit.com.

Visitors

Visit statistics. We count how often gym pages are viewed and how often visitors tap "call", "website" or "directions", so gyms can see how visible they are. We do this without cookies and without storing your IP address. A daily-changing code lets us count a visit once per day; it can't be linked to you across days. With each count we note only the kind of site that sent you (for example a search engine), whether you use a phone or a computer, and whether you're in Malta or abroad. These records are added up into daily totals and deleted after 90 days. Gym owners and Maltafit staff who are signed in aren't counted.

Asking a gym. If you use "Ask the gym" on a gym's page, we send your name, email, phone number (if you give it) and message to that gym by email and show them in the gym's dashboard, so the gym can answer you. We keep the enquiry for 12 months and then delete it. Once the gym has your message, it is also responsible for how it uses your details.

Your location. If you use "Near me", your browser asks for your location. It is used on your device only to sort gyms by distance and is not sent to us.

Maps. Gym pages can show a map from Google, which loads only when you tap "Show the map". Google may then set cookies and process data under its own privacy policy. The overview maps on list pages load map images from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which see your IP address. See our cookie statement.

Gym owners

When you claim a gym, we use your name, email, phone and role to confirm that you run the gym and to give you access. We keep this while your account exists, and delete unconfirmed claims after 14 days.

You sign in with a link we email you; a cookie then keeps you signed in for 30 days (see the cookie statement). We keep a record of the changes you send for your gym's page and when we approved them. Once a month we email you a report on how often your gym was seen and contacted, unless you switch it off in your dashboard or with the link in the email.

Services we use

Cloudflare hosts the website and stores the data for owner accounts and enquiries. Brevo sends our emails, such as sign-in links, enquiries and monthly reports. Both process the data only on our behalf.

Information about gyms

Gym pages contain business information published on the gym's Google Maps listing and its own website. Some listings name a person, for example a personal trainer's studio. You can ask us to correct or remove information about you through report content. Review summaries are written from a small sample of public reviews and do not include reviewers' names.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, and complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta.
