About Maltafit

Where our data comes from

Every gym page combines public information from a few sources. Here is what comes from where, and how sure we are of it.

Gym details, ratings and opening hours

Name, address, location, phone, website, opening hours, the Google rating and the number of Google reviews come from the gym's public Google Maps listing. We show the rating and review count only, not the reviews themselves.

Prices, classes and facilities

Prices, passes, classes and facilities are collected automatically from each gym's own website. Once a gym claims its page and confirms its prices, they show as "Confirmed by the gym". If a gym doesn't publish prices, we show "Unknown".

What visitors say

The short review summaries are written by AI from a small sample of public Google reviews. The "i" next to the heading says so. The star breakdown is Google's full count.

Photos

Gym photos come from the gym's own website or social media pages, with a record of where each photo came from, or are uploaded by the gym after claiming. Where we have no suitable photo, we show a general gym image instead (free outdoor gyms get a drawing).

Getting there

Distances to the nearest bus stop, ferry and public car park are straight-line distances we calculate from OpenStreetMap data.

Bus stop, ferry and parking data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Maps

Maps on gym pages are provided by Google Maps and load only when you tap "Show the map". The overview maps on list pages use OpenStreetMap tiles.
